Short loans are quoted at 4§ per cent. (4| - per cent.), three months' bills 4$ per cent. (4J per cent.). • Imperial Consols, £65 Is 3d (£65). Australasian Stock — New South Wales 3 per cents., £78 (£7B 2s 6d) ; New Zealand, 3* per pente., £83 7s 6d (£B3 7s 6d) ; Tasmanian, 3£ per cents., £85 7s 6d (£BS ss). Butter. — Market very firm, choicest scarce; Danish advancing owing to demands by Germans who are paying 234s at Copenhagen. .The Russian Government has prohibited export for six months from Ist November in order to provide for military requirements and home consumption. It is expected she will require half a million casks. It is estimated there are about 150,000 casks of Siberian now in England, and a further' 300,000 will be shipped before November. ' Cheese. — Market firm. New Zealand 765. Copper.— On the spot, £72 to £72 ss; three months, £73 to £83 15s. Tin.— On the spot, £149 15s. to £150 ss; three months, £151 to £151 10s. Pig Iron. — Middlesbro' No. 3, 64s 4d per ton. Lead.— Soft foreign, £24 7s 6d; at three months, £22 17s 6d. Spelter. — Cash, £73 per ton; forward, £65. Silver. — 23 15-16 d per ounce standard. BRADFORD MARKET. Business in top-making wools at Bradford is very slow. Prices for tops on the spot : 64's quality, per lb, 39d ; 60's, super, 38d ; 60's, common, 37d.
