ENEMY ALIENS
Mr. Nosworthy, in the House of Representatives yesterday, called the attention of the Prime Minister to a letter signed " Britisher," in a Taranaki paper, the writer of which asked if the Government were aware that a certain "enemy alien in Taranaki had made use of his liberty to write and circulate a. pamphlet which reflected, upon the honour and good faith of one of our Allies Also was the Government aware that one of the Civil servants had been passing communications through the mails by way of a neutral country, and quite recently offered to so transmit letters from a, person in New Plymouth So a. person in Austria. The Prime Minister said that this was the first time he had heard of the letter. Such letters should not be allowed to be published unless signed ; it was not a British method to attack from behind a hedge. However, h© would put the matter in th« hands of th© Aliens Commission.
