The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advice from its London office dated the 2nd inst. : — "The wool sales closed firm at the decline. 29,000 bales New Zealand are held over. Prices for good merinos are unchanged. Inferior merinos are 10 per cent, cheaper. Superior crossbreds are 5 per cent, dearer, and ordinary crossbreds are unchanged. Inferior crossbreds are 5 per cent cheaper, also lambs 10 per cent. Slips and fine scoured wools are 5 to 7g per cent., and all other scoureds are 10 to 15 per cent, cheaper. Current prices for farmers' lots in average condition are as follows: — Coarse crossbreds, 14d to 15d per lb; medium cro.=sbreds, 15d to 16d per lb; fine crossbreds, 16ad to 17^d per Jb; halfbreds, 17d to 17id per lb ; inferior merino, lid to 12d per lb; superior merino, 16d to 17d per lb. Crossbred sheepskins are par to 5 per cent, cheaper. Merino skins practically unchanged."
