MOANA, FROM SAN FRANCISCO Arriving in port at 3 o'clock this morning the R.M.S. Moana completed a. Dne, uneventful voyage from San Francisco, via Papeete and Karotonga. The vessel left San Francisco on the 15th September, reached Papeete at 7 a.m. on the 27th September, left Papeete on the following day at 8 a.m., and arrived at Rarotonga at 6 a.m. on the 30th. This port ws cleared at noon the same day, and the Moana arrived here as stated above. Remarkably fine weather and smooth seas, with the exception of a few heavy rain showera wliilst in the tropics, prevailed throughout the whole of the voyage The Moana brought the following* cargo to land nt Wellington:- 20 kegs lead, 67 barrels and 63 cases oil, 00 cases paints, 39 packages rubber and asbestos packing, 130 rolls and 200 crates roofing, 7 cases photo goods, 29 packages rubber goods, 26 casks printing ink, 29 cases paste, 74 kegs insecticide, 29 drums asphaltum, 32 cases and 47 bags periodicals, 1234 packages figs, 2700 cases preserved Iruits, 1550 cases canned fruits, 100 cases macaroni, 49 cases asparagus, 6 cases vanilla beans, 146 packages auto, tires, 3000 cases Californian apples, 2184 cases bananas, 1274 cases tomatoes, 59 sacks coconuts, 22 cases kuineras, and a large quantity of sundries The Moana is to sail at noon to-morrow for Sydney direct NIKAU'S DEPARTURE POSTPONED Intending passengers by the Nikau for Nelson and Motueka on Saturday will be enabled to see the parade of troops through the streets, as the vessel's departure has been postponed until 5 p.m. RIMUTAKA FOR LOADINGTo complete Homeward loading the Rimutaka arrived in port this morning, and berthed at No. 1 north, Queen's Wharf. The vessel is to sail on Tuesday next for London, via Monte Video and Teneritle PATEENA RETURNS TO NEW ZEALAND After relieving the Loongana in the Mel-bourne-Launceston run far some months, the Pateena returned to Wellington early this morning from Melbourne. The vessel left the Victorian port early on Saturday morning, and experienced fairly good weatlier on the run across the Tasman. Captain T. W. Cox (late of the Kokan, ex Lauderdale), ia in charge of the vessel, and has with him the following offleers :— Chief, Mr G. H. Hopkins (late second of the Loongana); second, Mr A. C. McGregor; chief engineer, Mr P. J. Hickey; second engineer, Mr D. Malloch. Mr E. May has charge of the providoring department. The Pateena will lay up here at an early date, in order to undergo survey and overhaul CLAN MACTAVISH ARRIVES An arrival in port yesterday afternoon was the tramp steamer Clan MacTavish, from Waitara, where she has ''been loading for Home. The vessel originally brought Home cargo to Australia, and has come across to New Zealand to continue Homeward loading.
