There was a large attendance, and marked interest was taken in the work of the parent society. Officers were elected for the current year, amd an instructive address on China was delivered by the annual deputation, the Rev. T. Howard Smith.' A lecture, descriptive of life and mission work in China, was also delivered in the Congregational Schoolroom, Cour-tenay-place, on Tuesday evening by the j Rev. (T. Howard Smith, who "for nearly twenty years has laboured in Pekin, under the auspices of the London Missionary Society. The lecture was illustrated by some fine coloured slides, and was greatly appreciated by the audience.
