ALLEGED TAMPERING WITH AN ELECTRIC SUPPLY
m (IT TELBORiPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NAPB3R, 6th October. The case against Turnbull and Jones, the Napier agent (W. C. Mitchell), and an employee (B. Urry) for tampering with a 'Borough Council electric meter, thus obtaining current which did not pass through the meter and thus was not charged for, was continued in the Magistrate's Court to-day. The defence was one of ignorance that the alterations to the wiling had been made. An application for the dismissal of the charges against Turnbull and Jones, on the grounds that the firm was not responsible for the acts of their servants, was refused, and the firm was fined £2 and Court costs. The case against Mitchel 1 was dismissed, as he was merely thfirm's agent in Napier. Urry, who ha tampered with the meter, was fined £o
