Subject to necessary alterations mails will close at the Chief Post Office as under :— For Wanganui. Parcel mail for South America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per Rimutaka, 0 a.m. For South America, via Monte Video; Tenenffe; also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (due London 23rd November), per Rimutaka, 10.30 a.m. Correspondence for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe must be specially addressed per Rimutaka. The best despatch for correspondence" addressed to the United .Kingdom and Continent of Europe will be via San Francisco, closing at Wellington, per Maitai, on Thursday, 14th October, at 1 p.m. Mails for Fiji, Samoa, and Fanning Island close at Auckland, on Saturday, 9th October, at 10.45 a.m. Mails for Australian States and South Africa close at Auckland, per Riverina on Monday, 11th October, at 4.15 p.m. Late letters for mails beyond the Dominion cannot in future be posted on the steamer, but must be posted in the late-letter postingbox at the Chief Post Office np to the appointed time shown on the mail notice. The advertised time for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment The parcel post mail per Main Trunk Express* closes at the C.P.O. at 11.30 a.m., and for the South per Ferry steamer at 5 45 p m Parcels for despatch by steamers' and trains, with the exception of the usual ferry steamers for Southern offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour before the advertised times of closing of mails As the last clearance of the city receivers is made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for the Sunday night Auckland express must be posted at the Chief Post Office not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday ( The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post AU books and sample packets and newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter mail closes Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels post packages must be handed in and money orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes AH the principal mails by train and steamer .close at Te Aro and Courtenay Place Post Office at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-fee clearance, and that mails by the ferry steamers for Southern offices close at 5.45 p.m. Mails for Auckland and Auckland district, per Second Main Trunk Express, close at Courtenay Place at 5.45 p.m. and Te Aro at 8 p.m. ' A.
