WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY

A meeting of the Wellington Presbytery -was held last night, the Moderator (Rev J. Paterson) presiding. The following were appointed voting representatives to the General Assembly : — Revs. J. Paterson, J. M'Caul, A. B. Todd, W. J. Comrie, H. Beggs, J. Cumnring, and Drs. Elliott and Gibb, with an elder from the session of St. John's, St. James's, Brooklyn, Kelburn, and Levin. Mr. Usher submitted a half-yearly re--gort from the Upper Hutt Home Mission tation, and the Presbytery' expressed great gratification for the very satisfactory state of affairs in this 1 charge. The Rev. W. Shirer reported on results of Sunday school examinations. It was mentioned that the General Assembly is appointed to meet in Auckland on 16th November. It was agreed to send to the Assembly an overture in connection with information being given to ministers and probationers respecting vacancies in the Church.
