LATE SPORTING

HOROWHENUA RACING CLUB. The annual meeting of the Horowhenua Racing Club, one of those which lost its permit when reduction was carried a few years back, wOl be held at its course at Weraroa (Levin) to-morrow. The train arrangements at& convenient for Wellington and Palmerston patrons. The New Plymouth and Napier mail trains arrive at Levin at 10.55 and 11.41 a.m. A special train leaves Palmerston at 9.40, arriving at Levin at 10.53. Satisfactory fields are engaged in the galloping events, and there are a couple of trotting events which will interest fol. lowers of y the light harness sport. The field engaged in the Maiden Scurry, five furlongs, includes Flying Spur, Pall Mall, and Need. Ballyhar and Sir Saracen, placegetters at Otaki, are in the Levin Hack Handicap, six furlongs. ': Wanganui and Otaki form concentrates attention on Master Achilles and Peronilla in the .M'Donald Memorial Handicap, six furlongs. The good field engaged in the Horowhenua Cup, one' mile and a-quarter, includes Master Moutoa, Immer, and Imarose, the placegetters on the first day at Otaki, Square Deal, a winner at Wanganui, and Rene, -who won at Otaki yesterday. Ballyhar and Bronk Delaval are among those engaged in the Moutere Hack Handicap, seven furlongs. Rongaro, a placegetter hi the Otaki Hack Handicap, will be among the starters in the Ohau Hack Welter, one mile and. a distance.
