GERMAN OFFENSIVE
SUCCESSES CLAIMED (Received July 15, 2.35. p.m.) , LONDON, 14th July. A Berlin communique states t We captured French- trenches on a front of 1100 yds north-east of Vienne-le-Chateau, making prisoner- 137, men. We stormed a position on a height south-west of the Bourneuilles front three kilometres (one mile and threequarters) in depth, and one kilometre (five-eights of a mile) at La Fille Morte, known as Height 285, is now • in our possession. We made prisoner 2581 unwounded French, also 300 ,or 400 wounded, and captured ten guns. Our troops advanced into the position held by the French artillery, putting eight guns out of action, which are now between the German and the French lines.
