SITUATION IN FRANCE
NO DIFFICULTY EXPECTED. PARIS, 27th June. M. Ribot, the Finance Minister, in his financial statement in the Chamber of Deputies, appealed for economy. He said that France would have no difficulty in meeting all the expenditure. The National Defence bonds now exceeded 5400 million francs. He was a strong believer in the British financial methods, but the resources from taxation would provide the least part" of the expenditure. Nevertheless, he would consider fresh taxation. ,
