SATISFACTORY INCREASE OF VOLUNTEER WORKERS.
LONDON, 26th June. Ammunition volunteers show a satisfactory increase. Mr. Lloyd George has not yet obtained guarantees from the men. The failure of the masters and men to reach a new wages agreement is a stumblingblock. MEN FROM JOHANNESBURG. (Received June 28, 9.35 a.m.) JOHANNESBURG, 27th June. Subscriptions have been opened to send twenty munition workers to England under an expert. It is hoped that the contingent can be increased to a hundred with Government aid. RUSSIAN PARTICIPATION IN JOINT LABOUR SCHEME. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) LONDON, 26th June. The Russian press notes tho Anglo-French collaboration in industries and ', .urges Russian participation, pointing out that the colossal problems confront- * "ing the Allies can be best solved by joint labour and co-operation, and the •speeding up of the factories.
