The' Osservatore points out that- the opinions of the Holy See must be judged by public official documents, not by private publications, which may contain various inexactitudes. ' The Italian public regard this explanation as unsatisfactory, especially as t/he inexactitudes are unspecified. They ar« astonished that the Pope allowed the interview after the difficulties arising with Hen* Wiegand.
