ONSLOW BOROUGH AFFAIRS
In order to consider the estimates and rates for the Borough of Onslow for the year, the Onslow Borough Council met on Wednesday, the Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) presiding. There was a full attendance of councillors, with the exception of Councillor Smith, who was unable to attend owing to illness;. The ' estimates mostly concerned the improvement of various roads in the borough, the only important new work being the erection of a, fire brigade station at Kaiwarra, for which the sum of £60 was set aside. The general rate, 2^d in the £, was the same as last year. Owing to the increase in the levy, the Hospital and Charitable Aid rate was increased from 10-64 d in the £ to 12-64 d in the £. Tho works loan rate, formerly 13-64 din the £, was raised to 14-6 id in the £.
