DRAMATIC RECITAL
Mr. Gilbert Emery, who was st-ago manager for the "Seven Little Austra- * nans' Company in Wellington, and also stage manager of the "Glad Eye" Company in Australia, gave a dramatic reci» tal in the Theosoplucal Society's rooms. Ballance-street, on Tuesday. Mr. Hatdie Shaw presided, and there Was a crowded audience. Mr. Emery entertained for the most part of the evening, with considerable success. The piogramme gave Mr. Emery excellent opportunities of showing his dramatic ability. It included "The Throne Room Scette." from the historical play "Queen Elizabeth." hi which Mr. Emery impersonated four characters. Several selections from Dickens followed, besides numerous other entertaining items. During the interval a collection was made for the benefit of the British War Orphans' Fund and to supply ladies of the Guild of the Order of the Sta^ in tho East with wool and other material.
