*• PETONE CLUB. Tho nineteenth annual meeting of the Petone Bowling Club, held thifc week, was presided over by_ Mr. A. Cowie (president). The report and balance-sheet, (already published) were adopted. In regard to Saturday games, it was decided to discontinue the practice of placing the names -of players on a blackboard and draw the rinks by means of marbles. It was also resolved that in club games a round be completed before the next is drawn. A suggestion by the committee, that, instead of throwing all the responsibility of looking after and supervising the green on the shoulders of one man as formerly, a sub-committee of three be appointed for that purpose, was adopted. The president handed the prizes won to the following : — Champion Singles — Mr. W. F. Rennie (Wilford Cup), A. Coles '2nd. The prize money, £2 Bs, was donated by tho winners to the Carnival Fund. Champion Pairs — M'Ewen and Melhuish 1. Cates and Wearne 2. The prize money (£2 16s) was donated to tho Carnival Fund by the winners. Handicap Pairs — As the games were not completed it was decided to donate the entrance fees (£3 12s) to the Carnival Fund. Tho election of officers resulted at. follows :— President, Mr. J. G. Castle; vice-president, Mr. W. P Rennie; hon. secretary, Mr. G. H. Cates; hon. treasurer. Mr. J. G. Castle; management committee, Messrs. Cowie, Hay, Melhuish, Marfcdcn, M'Ewen, and Stephens; match committee, Messrs. Fowler, Melbnish, M'Ewen. Trustee representation on committee, Mr. A. Carter ; delegates Wellington Centre, Messrs. Coles, Palmer, and Wylie; auditors. Messrs. Jones and Wilkinson (re-elected). Votes of thanks were accorded the secretary, Mr. Cates, the caretaker, and the preps.
