CORRUPTION CHARGE
AGAINST MANITOBA LEGISLATURE HUSHING UP ELECTION PROTESTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copjrijht.) (Received June 24, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, 23rd June. A Royal Commission is investigating charges of political corruption against the Manitoba" Legislature. Counsel is representing fourteen private members. It is alleged that the former Administration made a compact to pay the present Administration, which was then in Opposition, ten thousand dollars as hush money, to drop election protests. The alleged agreement provided for enough Conservative resignations to allow the new Government to take office without an election.'
