A BRILLIANT COUNTERATTACK.
(Received June 24, 10.30 a.m.) PARIS, 23rd June. A communique states : — We repulsed counter-attacks near the cemetery at Nenville and the "Labyrinth." We recaptured' a fres.li portion of the second German lino at Calonne. The enemy at Fontenelle and Can de Sapt, after firing 4000 shells In a few hours on one of our advanced works on d 200 metre front, gained a footing and attacked the neighbouring trenches. They were immediately checked by a brilliant counter-attack, and we recovered almost the whole of the lost ground, taking 142 prisoner!:, including three officers. We occupied Sondcrnach and readied the slopes eastward of the village.
