FATE OF LEMBERG
TWO MILLION BEFORE THE CITY THE CALL FOR MORE MEN It is officially announced from Vienna that Leniberg lias been captured. No confirmation lias come from 3?etrogi'ad, -which reports successes on the Dniester. Two million of the enemy are said to be on the 100-mile front north, west, and south of Lemberg 1 . A London newspaper ,states that all the military stores had been removed from Lemberg by the Russians. In the -western theatre satisfactory reports continue to arrive regarding the French offensive. New messages show that the munitions position in Britain is being satisfactorily developed, and Lord Kitchener has informed Mr. Ben Tillett that high explosive shell for the field artillery is coming forward better. On the ' Gallipoli Peninsula the French, occupying the fight at KereVes Dere, made a successful attack and captured 600 yards of trenches, inflicting very heavy losses on the Turks. ' The Federal Prime Minister has announced in the" House that the Imperial authorities had within the past fortyeight hours appealed for more men, with or -without equipment. It is reported that the Commonwealth will probably raise three additional infantry brigades. /
