Marama arrived in the stream shortly before 3 o'clock this morning, and subsequently berthed at No. 1 south, Queen's Whar,f. The Marama left the ,New South Wales port at noon last Saturday, and experienced fair weather until two days out, when strong easterly winds and heavy heayl seas were encountered. These conditions prevailed until arrival here. It ie expected that the vessel will get away at 6 o'clock this evening for San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete TAVIUNI'S NEW RUNNING News has been received that the Taviuni is now engaged in the Hobart-Melbourne-New-castle service. Captain Evans, late of the Karitane, has^-charge of the vessel BARQUE ANTIOPE COMING Some weeks ago it was reported that the barque Antiope was to come to Wellington to be used as a coal hulk. Further advice concerning the vessel's movements states that she left Newcastle last,, week for Sydney to discharge the remainder of her cargo of timber. Air Sydney the Antiope changes ownership, and after being docked, the old iron vessel will be brought across to Wellington, where her conversion ink/ a coal hulk will take place Whilst leaving Greymouth this trip, the Kamo made an attempt to locate an anchor lost by her during the recent heavy weather, but without result On account of the Prince of Wales' Birthday, a holiday was observed on the waterfront yesterday. Consequently shipping work was practically at a standstill • Sailing this afternoon for Nydia Bay, the Woottori> will load timber there for Lyttelton, subsequently returning to Wellington with produce Instead of going to Karamea, the Defender is to be despatched on Saturday for Picton and Hokitika
