LODGE MEETINGS

• <*.< Arch Druid Bro. A. Tullett presided over the special summoned meeting of tho Melrose Lodge, No. 66, U.A.0.D., held last evening m All Saints' Clubroom, Kilbirnie. Visitors prcsottt included P.S. Bro. T. Mollison (Island Bay Lodge) ahd Bro. Ogilvie (Excelsior Lodge). _ It was resolved to pay an offioial visit to Corona' tion Lodge next Tuesday, the occasion being the presentation of the Royal Arch Chapter Shield. During tho evening, P.A. Bro. F. Raven wae presented with a P.A. collar and ' diploma, in recognition of his services to the lodge in fulfilling the office of Arch Druid. D.P. Bro. S. L. Halt made > the presentation, and referred in eulogistio terms to the great interest tho recipient had taken 111 Druidio matters and the Melrose Lodge in general. J.P.A. Bro. W. Labone acted a« M.C. during j the presentation. Nominations w«jj-o ' taken for- the offico of two trustees, P.A. Bro. i'P. Palmer and J.P.A. Bio. W. Labono being elected. After routine business had been disposed of, the Loyal Kilbirhie Lodge of Oddfellows were welcomed, and the contest for the 600 shield was entered upon. Fifteen games were •played, and with the ecoro seven games •6acn the deciding factor was the final game, which evinced ' great interest, ahd was eventually won by Melroe© Druids, who thus retain the shield. Refreshments were served and musical items contributed.
