WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City . Council proposes at the Ordinary Meeting to be held at the Town Hall, Wellington, on THURSDAY, the Bth day of JULY, 1915, to make and levy under the provisions of "The Rating Act, . 1908," and ■ all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the following Rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of APRIL, 1915, and ending on the 31&t day of MARCH, 1916, namely: — GENERAL RATE. A General Rate for the general purpose of the City under Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," of Twopence and One-tenth of a Penny (2 l-10d) in th« Pound on the unimproved rateable value oh the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within the City. LIBRARY RATE. A Library Rate under the provisions of Section 90 of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," of Seventeen-two hundredths of a Penny (17-200 d) in the Pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property within the City. * HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A Rate under the provisions of Section 41 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," of Threepence and Ono-fifth of a Penny (3 l-sd) in the Pound on the annual rateable value ,on tho Valuation Roll on all rateable 'p.roperty within the City, euoh rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. WATER RATE. Water .Rate (ordinary supply) under the provisions of Section 83 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908/' as under:— On all land and buildings in the City used tts . dwellinghouses to which water is supplied— (a) Where the annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll does not exceed £12 10s, a rate of ten shillings ; (b) where such annual rateable value exceeds £12 10s, a rate of 2? p«r cent, on such value. One-half of the respective Water Rates mentioned above on all land and buildings to which water can be supplied but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards of any part of the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for any purposes other than d^ellinghouses. Also, that all tho above Rates will be payable in two equal instalments on the 31st day of JULY and tho 2nd day of DECEMBER, 1915. SANITATION RATES. NOTICE is also hereby given that the Wellington City Council intends to levy a. portion equal to Forty-nine Two Hundredths of a Penny (49-200 d) in the Pound on the unimproved value of the Special Rate of One Shilling in the Pound (on the annual value) and a portion equal to Seven Two Hundredths of a Penny (7-200 d) in the Pound (on the unimproved value) on all rateable property in,, the; City as. it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with the Borough of Melrose, and on other portions of the City, being the lands described in the first schedule to "The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," which Special Rates were made and levied under "The Wellington City Sanitation Loan Empowering, Act, 1892," and' "The Wellington City Sanitation Loan' Act, 1897,""respectively, for interest and' Sinking, fund for -the Wellington City Sanitation Loans raised under the .said Acts, . payable by twoj, equal instalments 'on the dates fixed in. that behalf by the Special Order making, 'tho said Rate/ during the yearly period of 'the years 1915 and 1916- covered by the-' said Rate. CONSOLIDATION LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN RATE-SPECIAL . RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given that tho 'Wellington City Council "intends to levy a portion, Twenty Two hundredths of a Penny (20-200 d) in the Pound, of tho Special Rate of One Penny and On«fifth of a Penny in tho Pound on the Rateable Value on tha basis of tho unimproved value of all rateable property in the City as it was bounded" prior to its amalgamation with tho Borough of Melroee, for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on tho Wellington City Consolidation Loan, 1876, Repayment Loan, 1906, of £200,000, made under " The City of Wellington Loans Consolidation Act, 1876," "Tho Local Bodies' Loansr Act, 1901," and "Tha Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, ' and their amendments, payable- in two equal instalments on the dates fixed in that behalf by the Special Order making the said Rate, during tho yearly period of the years 1915 and 1916 covered by the said Rate. \ CITY IMPROVEMENTS LOANSPECIAL RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given that the Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion, equal to Twenty-nine Two hundrfedths of a Penny (29-200 d), on. the ra'teablo valuo on the basis of tho unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Wellington as it was bounded prior to 'its "amalgamation with the Borough of Melrose of the Special Rate of Sixpence in tho Pound on the annual value ' of such- property for payment of interest on the City Improvements Loan of £100,000 payable by two equal instalments on the dates fixed in tjjat behalf by the Special Order making the said Rate, during the yearly period of the years 1915 and 1916 covered by the said Rate. • MELROSE IMPROVEMENTS LOAN RATE.' NOTICE is also hereby given that the Wellington City Council intends to levy » portion (Sixty-three Two-hundredths (63-200) of a Penny in the ' Pound) of the Special Rate of Four-fifths of a Penny in ,the Pound on the unimproved valuo on all property in that portion of the City lately included in the Borough of Melrose made and levied under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and their amendments, for tha purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and charges in respect of the Melroso Streets Improvement Loan of £33,500, payable by two equal ".halfyearly . instalments on the dates fixed > in that behalf by the Special Order making tho, said Rate, during the yearly period of the years 1915 and 1916 covered by the . said Rate. < ' OUTLYING DISTRICTS DRAINAGE LOAN RATE. Act,., 1893,", made and levied under " Tho Local' BodieV Loans Act, 1901," and " The* Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," -and their resoeotivo amendments, made over th» portion of the City formerly comprised in tho Borough of Melrose, exclusive of tho portion thereof defined in tho first schedule to " The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," and cxlondcd by " Tho Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908," to the portions of the Boroughs of Karori and Onslow now included in tho City, exclusive of the portions thereof defined in tho first schedulo to " Tho Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect of " Tho Wellington City (part Molroso District) Drainage Loan, 1908," of £100,000, payable by two equal instalments on tho dates fixed in that behalf by tho Special Order making tho said Rate, during tho yearly period of the years 1915 and 1916 covered by tho said Rate.
