VICTORIA CLUB. The eighteenth annual meeting of the Victoria Bowling Club ivae hold List night, Mr. G. Snaddon (president) being in the- chair. The- annual report, a, preciß of which has been published, was adoptnd. The election of officers resulted as _ follows: — President, Mr. J. S. Keith; directors, Messrs. C. Campbell, G. Godber, W. E. Jackson, M. Marks, R. Scott, R. Haughton; lion, treasurer, Mr. S, E. Hunt; lion, secretary, Mr. J. I?. Etbiis; lion, auditor, Mr. R. Dixon. NEWTOWN CLUB. Tho directors of tho Ne-wtown Bowling Club, in their annual report, state that in consequence of tho abolition of tho midweek haJf-holiday, there will be more players to be provided with a game on Saturday afternoons. .As the green is usually full on that day, the question of reducing the^ maximum membership and increasing the subscription will be brought forward for discussion at the annual meeting. The financial year closed with a slightly smaller balance than was available at the beginning. This is accounted for mainly by the fact that the directors are now paying off ovel* £20 per annum of the principal of the mortgage on the club's property, thus reducing tho liabilily By an increasing amount yearly.
