EVERYTHING STAKED ON THE ATTEMPT INEXHAUSTIBLE STREAM OF TROOPS FROM WESTERN THEATRE , ' (Received" 1 June 23, 8.10 -a. m.) * w .. t „, . , PETROGRAD, 22nd June. H urtner units from Belgium have reached Galicia. This fact supports the theory that .Germany is staking everything on her attempt to paralyse the Russians, so as to be free to deal with a general Anglo-French advance. Germany's losses in Galicia have been colossal, but an in«xhausible stream of soldiers is kept up. Some experts "estimate that at leapt one-third of the German force in' the west has been transferred to Galicia. They remind the public Uiafc the Austrians devoted many years to. adapting the Lemberg region to serve an eastern advance against Russia, and not to purposes of defence. Consequently the roads leading from the city are within the zone of the enemy artillery. Lemberg has therefore forfeited its importance as a centre of mifitary supplies. Some newspapers are uneasy at the possibility that Sweden may declare war. '
