In the Grand Opera House to-night a concert will be given in the interest of No. 6 Queen Candidate, Mrs. M'Vicar. The Wellington Pipe Band will contribute selections and there will be other items specially attractive to Scotsmen. Some works of art will be sold by auction during the interval. Members of the "Charley's Aunt" Club, assisted by Miss Saunders's dance pupils,' will give a concert to-morrow evening in ■ the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall. The box plan is at the Bristol. : Natives who will take part in the Maori concert at the Town Hall to-night are arriving in Wellington to-day. The entertainment promises to be unique in its attractions. A special train will leave Wellington for Upper Hutt at 11.30 p.m. The Town Hall entertainment for Thursday evening will be given by 250 school children trained by the Misses Holm. Some fine tableaux have been arranged, and there will also be national dances and solos. Among the contributors will be Mr. C. Clarkson. Master Rodney PankKufst, and many of the winners at the CJueen Carnival musical and elocutionary competitions. The proceedings promise to be full of interest, and the charges will all be more or less of a political character. An extra strong force of "police" has been organised for the' occasion. Mr. E. J. Fitzgibbon, who has presided over the Mock Court during the last week with much ability, is in charge of the arrangements. The Hon. W. H. Herries has forwarded a cheque for £10 10s to the Public Service Committee in support of its candidate, "liss A. M. Palmer.
