FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE FEDERATION
A small but important conference has been sitting this week in Christchurch, consisting of Messrs. E. W. Relph (manager, the N.Z. Fanners' Co-op. Assooiation of Canterbury, Ltd.. Christ-church), J. P. Nenmai (manager, tho Canterbury Farmers' Co-op. Association, Timaru), and A. Leigh Hunt (manager, the N.Z. Farmers" Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., Wellington). This committee was entrusted with the work of drawing up the constitution of the federation of eleven farmers' co-operative associations of the Dominion. Tlub work has now been completed, and the report of the committee will be presented to the conference of representatives of the co-operative companies to be held in Christchuroh in the last week of June. This important mo\ement has for its object the establishing of n wholesale cooperative organisation for tho purpose of importing, collectively, the supplies of the various associations, and later to handle thp combined exports in London and elsewhere. '! he new company will be known as the Farmers' Co-operative Wholesale Federaticn of Ne-w Zealand, Ltd.
