Central America, United States of Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Brit- : sh, Dutch, and French Guiana, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, close at Auckland, per Makura, on Monday, 31st May, at 4.30 p.m. On Thursday, 3rd June (King's Birthday), the Postal Department will be closed in all its branches. Mails for despatch by steamers will close at 8 p.m. on the previous evening, and the only despatches of correspondence by trains will close on 3rd June as follow : — For the Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts, at C.30 a.m., and for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. The city and suburbs receivers will not be cleared during the day, but the midnight clearances will be made as usual There will not be any deliveries by lettercarriers on King's Birthday, but on Wednesday, the 2nd June, the Carriers' Department (entrance upstairs from Featherston-street) will be open for the delivery of correspondence addressed to streets ill the city nnd suburbs from Bto 0 p.m. ; also the public countrr for the delivery of correspondence addressed to the Voat Office, will be open from 8 to a p.m. The fhU'celß delivery counter will be open from 8 to.B tMfl, A. ?. tJ&VDtiiT, Chit* BostmMVtj.
