Minister of Defence, to married men to_ desert their wives and families and enlist, will be promptly contradicted by that gentleman. A more unpatriotic utterance has never before been voiced by any. Minister of the Crown. .Their place is to look after the upbringing and_ welfare of their children, g thus rendering the best possible service to the State. a Sinitle men should be compelled to enlist before Mr. .Allen's plea is given a moment's consideration.
