GERMANY WANTS A WEEK'S GRACE. (times ani> stdnbt sun skrtices.) LONDON, 26th May. Germany has asked America for another week's delay in replying to the Lusitania Note. The Italian declaration of war has been responsible for a calmer feeling in Germany towards America. The reply will be in the friendliest terms, and every effort will be made to avoid trouble. • Submarines are to be instructed not to sink German ( ?American) ships.
