SHELLS DESTROY CYLINDERS. (Received May 28, 1 p.m.) 1 LONDON, 27th May. Some of the Germans at Pilkem were suffocated by gas escaping from cylinders which had been blown up by a French shell. Our artillery effected a similar result in a trench near the Ypres-Comines Canal.
