KARORI BOWLING CLUB
♦ Mr. tT. Bennett was entertained at a social of the Knrori Bowling Club on Tuesday. The president, Mr. B. G. H. Burn, (Mayor of Karori), and Mr. C. Cathie referred in complimentary terms to Mr. Bennett's work in connection with tho establishment of the club in 1903. Tlib president expressed the best thanks of the club to him and wished him every success in his new district. On behalf of the club he presented him with a, handsome silver and gold service as a memento of the occasion and as a mark of theresiiectin which he was held by the club. In reply, Mr. Bennett briefly roviewed the history of the club and congratulated members on the position it occupied among Wellington clubs. Ho thanked members for conferring upon him the highest honours of the club aad also for their beautiful present. He regretted that he was compelled to sever ! his active connection with the club.
