BRIGADIER-GENERAL BRIDGES
TRIBUTES PAID IN FEDERAL' HOUSE. (Received May 20, 9.40 a.m.) 'MELBOURNE, This Day. Ihe Federal House of Representatives ejqjressed regret at the wounding of Brigadier-General Bridges. Mr. Fisher (Prime Minister) and Mr. Cook (Leader of the Opposition) paid tributes to General Bridges's soldierly qualities and leadership. Mr. Fisher said the Australian troops had made history in the Dardanelles which would inspire their descendants in ages to come. General Bridges's name would always be associated with their splendid performances.
