WEDNESDAY HOCKEY
YESTERDAY'S RESULTS. The Wednesday Hockey Championship matches were continued yesterday afternoon under favourable circiun> stances. Petone accounted for Hereawa, scoring 6 goals against their opponents' nil. Tho match was played at Petone, and during th© fir6t spell, which ended I—o,1 — 0, honours were very even. In the eecond spell the suburban team ran right away, but it is doubtful whether they would have scored bo many had it not been for Cavill, whose ehoi& could not go wrong. Altogether ho scored five goals and M'Ewan one. Pullen played a great game at full back for Hereawa. Mr. G. Empson was the referee. At Karori, Pakeha defeated Ramblers by 2 goals to nil after an even but uninteresting game. Gracie 6coral both goals, and Ramblers had hard luck in not breaking their duck. Mr. G. Carver controlled the game.
