BRITISH HATRED OF GERMANY
THE REASON FOR IT, ACCORDING TO A GERMAN. (Received May 5, 9 a.m.) LONDON. 4th May. Herr Kiliani, an ex-Consul General, in an address to the "Berlin Colonial Society, said he did not believe that commercial jealousy had inspired tho British hostility to Germany ; the real reason for her hatred was an exaggerated conception of British power and institutions, and a lack of appreciation of German institutions. Britain had created a splendid world system, and saw a new Germany beginning ' to accomplish the same task.
