Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary), in reply to questions in the House of Commons, said he could not make a statement until tho Chino-Japanese nego» tiations had been concluded. • Mi. P. Snovvdcn (Labour) asked it Sir Edward Grey regarded the treaty obligations to defend Chinese integrity as a, scrap of paper, and would he do noihing until Japan had imposed its authority in China. Sir Edward Grey paid the matter wu confidential. The Government, was tn communication 'with Japan regarding tin objects of the Anglo-Japancise alliance, also tho British interests which might be affected. "
