Wellington, 30th April, 1915. PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
I * The fortnightly meeting of the committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held last evening, Mr. W. Watson in the chair. Captain Henry (the society's inspector) reported several cases of cruelty which had come under his notice; all had been satisfactorily attended to. Mr. Seed, formerly the society's inspector in Wellington, who hos returned from a visit to the Old Country, was present and was elected a member of the committse. Since the last meeting the following subscriptions 'have been received and duly acknowledged: — "Protector," £5 ; Gear Meat Co., Herdman and Kirkcaldie, 2ls each; Dominion Laboratory staff, 12s 6d; New Zealand Shipping Co., 10.* 6d ; Atkinson and Dale, E. Collie, 10s each; Mrs. Butter, 5s 6d; W. H. Millward. Ballinger Bros., R. Johnson, J. B. Finlay; W. R. Bock, Meek and Yon Haast, A. Raven, H. L. Bryenton. S. T. Silver, Mrs. Hales, E. T. Barthorpe, W. Mowbray, Lees, Father Lane, Clendon, 5s ea-ch ; C. Cathie, 4b 6d; W. Kellow, C. Stewart, Aldous, Mts. Evans, Dr. Litchfield, Lower Hntt Convent. Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Douglas, 2s 6d each ; Mise Camina, Mr. M'Gibbon, Galsby Bros., Friend, 2s each ; two Friends, Is 6d each ; six Friends, Is each ; total, £15 7s.
