COLLEGE STUDENTS & THE WAR

<■ The annual report of the committee of the Victoria College Students' Association states that at the commencement of the war a very large number of students and ex-students of the college immediately volunteered for service abroad. ' Over 60 went , with the Samoan Force, and the total number of volunteer*' now Btahote at • considerably over one hundred) and the number still continues to increase. The Victoria University College War Fund, which was raised at a special meeting of students and professors, now totals over s £loo. The trustees are Profei-w Adamson and Mr. G. G. G. Watson, Ly whom the money is being held for the present, with a view to rendering assistance to any of our student volunteers who may need it. At the end of the 'war_ the balance is to be donated to some suitable fund. The executive has decided to ask the Victoria College Council and the Professorial Board to erect in the college building, a Roll of Honour Board, containing the names of students and ex-students who have volunteered. The membership of the association, which of course has been affected by the watf, now Btands at 191.
