HOSPITAL MILK SUPPLY

«. The Hospital milk supply was under notice at the meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday afternoon, when a letter was received from the District Health Officer (Dr. H. E. Finch) covering copies of reports of the Dominion Analyst (Mr. J. S. Maclaurin) on the analyses of samples of milk taken at the institution. The reports showed that in no instance were preservatives found, and all the samples were fresh milk. In one instance the milk was below the standard in fat, being only 87.7 per cent, of requirements. This case, said Dr. Finch, would be the subject of a prosecution. In two other cases^ it was almost certain that the morning's milk had been delivered in the evening. Mr. G. Nash said it was a matter of impossibility to comply with the Government regulations. The milk from the Levin State Farm was no longer sent in to town because of this reason. There was little further discussion.
