CHILD GOES ADRIFT IN A BOAT
• , FATALITY FEARED. (IT TELEGRAPH-- PRESS ASSOCIATION) WESTPORT, 18th March. Word has reached Westport that a lad named Henderson, about seven years of age, got into a boat at Mokihinui, let the painter go, and drifted out to sea. A ' vigorous search has been made for three miles along the shore on either side of the river, but no sign of the boat or lad has been seen. It is thought possible that he may bo seen and picked up by some passing steamer. WESTPORT, This Day. The missing boat was found on the sea beach this morning, but there was no sign of the boy. The tug Mana went out to search.
