THE LATE BISHOP GRIMES
SUGGESTED BURIAL IN THE CATHEDRAL. (IT TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Dean Hills made an application for permission to bury the late Bishop Grimes in the cathedral, which the clergy and laity consider the greatest visible monument to the late prelate's years of labour. The application was thought to be only a formal matter, and astonishment haa been caused by the reply from the Miniftter of Internal Affairs that he has no power to grant the request. It ie pointed out that three years ago the late Bishop Lenihan, of Auckland, was buried in St. Patrick's Cathedral. A further communication has been sent to the Minister. [The Prime Minister informed a Post representative that the matter will be considered by Cabinet this afternoon.]
