A HAPPY, HEALTHY ARMY
HOW THE BRITISH SOLDIERS ARE 'TREATED. EXPERT,' WILLING TRENCHDIGGERS. (TIMES AND SYDNBY SUN SERVICES.) (Received March 9, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Bth March. The correspondent, of The Times at headquarteis says : — "The campaign is being run on the principle of generosity. If the men want anything for fighting or comfort they get it. The reeult is a happy, healthy army. A most striking instance is the convalescent home at headquarters, where men with trifling ailments, who would otherwise be sent to the base, are turned out in a- fortnight physically repaired. The trench-diggers are working with a. keenness that would make the Clyde strikers toil for fortyeight hours a day, if only out of professional admiration. The trench-diggers form almost a perfect machine."
