VESSELS TO SAIL
INSPECTION BY NEW YORK CUSTOMS OFFICIALS. (Received March 8, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, 7th March. The Customs officials have inspected the steamers Vaterland and George Washington, which are preparing to sail. [The Vaterland is a vessel of 64,282 tons gross, while ,the George Washington has a gross tonnage of 25,570. The yaterland belongs to the HamburgAmerika line, and the George Washington to the Norddeutscher Lloyd Company, both German firms.]
