DARING BURGLARY AT PETONE ♦ While the occupants of the residence of Mr. R. Hancock on Hutt-road, Petone, were absent on Saturday evening, the house was broken into and ransacked in a mdst thorough manner. It is believed the premises were entered between 8 o'clock and 8.30, for when Mr. Hancock returned home the contents of the rooms were strewn in all directions, while the intruder or intruders had made good their escape with about £6 in money and £60 or £70 worth of jewellery. The matter was immediately placed in the hands of the police. The burglar with his kit Of tools ttevef wastes time trying to open one of John Tann's burglar-proof safes. They resist all burglars. Sargood, Son, and Ewen are agents for" John Tann's fire and bur-glar-proof safes and strong room doors. —Advt.
