Despite the unsettled wealher on Saturday, the annual picnic of the Knox Presbyterian Sunday School, held at Taita, was largely attended. An enjoyable day was tpmit with games, races, and various other pastimes. Referring to the_ war, the committee of the Wellington ' College Old Boys' Football Club, in its annual report, says : "Our country called, and footbal lei's were not slow to respond. It is particularly good to know and lecord the fact that Old Boys everywhere were in the van. Practically all our last year'B older active players have volunteered, and we feel certain that they can be relied upon to do their duty." The final in the swimming race for girls under fourteen years of age, which could not be got off on Saturday, will be swum at the Te Aro Baths at 5 o'clock on Wednesday evening. Messrs. J ; H. Royal Academy Pictures, to be sold on behalf of the Belgian , Relief Fund. The books are now on view. Messrs. Blake and Co. will sell to-mor-row, at their mart, 53, Cuba-street, com1 mencing at 2.15 o'clock, a wholesale upholsterer's stock ; also 500 lots of furniture. At 1.30 p.m. to-morrow Messrs. C. W.
