METHO DIST CONFERENCE ACTIVITY IN BUILDING.

At the Methodist Conference the secretary of the church building and loan fund reported that during the year there had been considerable activity in the acquisition of property and buildings. Freehold sites have been acquired for eight new churches, seven new parsonages, seven new Sunday school halls, and five Bible class halls. The current trust account income was £51,151 and the expenditure £58,389. The church loan fund stands at £11,488. The headquarters of the Foreign Missions Committee wa? transferred from Christchurch to WeUington. DISTRICT CHAIRMEN. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At the Methodist Conference the following ministers were elected chairmen of Synodical districts : — Auckland, Rev. C. H. Laws; South Auckland, Rev. Mr. Spence ; Taranaki and Wanganui, Rev. Mr. Hammond ; Hawkes Bay and Manawatu. Rev. Mr. Murray ; Wellington, the President ; Nelson, Rev. Mr. Baumber; Canterbury, Rev. Mr. Sinclair ; South Canterbury, Rev. Mr. Joughin ; Otago, Rev. Mr. Drake ; Southland, Rev. Mr. Ready.
