IN EAST PRUSSIA FIERCE AND BLOODY FIGHTING
The Prime Minister has received the following message from the High Commissioner, dated London, B.th February. — "Petrograd reports that fighting in the Inster Szeszuppe valleys (in East Prussia, in the area of the operations south of the Niemen) has been Veiy fierce and sanguinary. On the left bank of the Vistula there have been violent artillery duels. On the left bank of the Bzufa, near its mouth, the Russians have captured a very important strategical position. '' In the Carpathians the Russian progress continues, and two thousand prisoners have been taken."
