STAFF PICNIC
GORDON AND GOTCH'S EMPLOYEES. The ©ijjhth annual picnic of Gordon and Gotch's employees was held on Saturday last at Day's Bay, fine weather prevailing throughout th<j day- In tho morning a short sports programme was gone through, and in the afternoon a 50 yards swimming race was held, also several tennis matahes wero played. Thb result* of the races axe as under: — Gordon and Gotch's Handicap, 100 Yards, Is prize (silver cup, presented by Mr. >W. E. Jackson), A. Youl; 2nd, A. Ballard; 3rd, C. Broughton. Ladies' Race, 50yds, Ist, Miss Porter; 2nd, Miss Dalton. Youths' Race, 50yds. Ist, A. Cloak. Married Men's Race 75yds, ltt, A. Ballard; 2nd N. Stevens. Thread tho Needle Race, Ist (men), A. Bennett; Ist (Indies), Mis» Johnston: 2nd K. Andrews and Miss Tomporton. Swimming Race. 50yds, Ist (Gordon and Gotch's Trophy), A. Ballard; I 2nd, B. Tracey.
