A. AND P. SHOW HOROWHENUA

Excellent weather favoured the Horowhenua A. and P. Association yesterday for their ninth annual show, which was the most successful ever held in the association's history. The show was , officially opened by the Eight Hon. W F. Massey (Prime Minister). The entries showed a substantial increase upon any previous year, and the attendance was a record, visitors being present from all round the district and adjacent towns. The sheep' classes showed a vast improvement upon last year, both in quality and number. The collection of pigs would also have been hard to beat. Something of a record was put up by i Mr. D. Gardner, of Koputaroa, in the Eomney sheep classes. He had a total of eighteen entries, and secured 1 championship, 9 firsts, 6 seconds, and 3 thirds. Mr. E,. J. Kebbell, of Ohau, carried off the championship with his Romney ram. The championship butter-fat competition was won by Mr. E. M Herick'3 Molly. The winner was presented with the handsome cup donated by the Levin Dairy Company. During the day a horse presented by Mr. N. Kirkcaldie waA sold in aid of the Trentham library and realised £35.
