' AUCKLAND, This Day. r An arrival to-day was the Turul, renamed Cl, from Sydney, the first captured German steamer, with cargo transhipped from the Port Macquarie. [The day prio* to the outbreak of the ?war between Britain and Germany the ••Tunil, owned by the Hungarian-Levant ■Line, arrived at Melbourne from Fiume, -"Uier port of registry. She landed a part cargo at the Victorian port and then proceeded to Sydney, and it was whilst at this port that hostilities broke out Britain and Austria. The "-Turul was thereupon captured. She is a steel screw steamer of 3530 tons gross, ,and was built in 1907 by Messrs R. ;:jpraggs and Sons, Ltd., of Middlesborough. Her principal dimensions are: [Length 350 ft, depth 23ft 4in, and ' breadih 50ft. 3in. The Commonwealth authorities have decided to utilise the captured steamers, and have placed officers and crew on board the Turul.
