WORK AT HUNTLY

WILL PROBABLY RESUME NEXT WEEK (Bt TSLBORAt>H.«-SPECtAL TO THE POST.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Work will probably be resumed in tho Huntly mines on Monday. A shipment of "permitted"' explosives, obtained in Australia, has been made by a Newcastle steamer, the consignment com' s,ing about 200 cases, which shoul< c sufficient for two months' full wor-'u ft time in the mines. By the end of iJju* period it is hoped tile company will have secured the explosives for which an order was sent to England when the mines were closed on 22nd September. This 1 latter consignment will, of course, be subject to the shipping conditions brought, about by the war, making the actual date of its arrival uncertain. Should it come to hand at the expected date, however, there' should be no further hindrance to the continuance o£ mining in the company's properties. No definite date has yet been fixed for the sitting of the special Court of /Arbitration _ set up by the , Government to enquire into the safety oi^ otherwise of monobel powder, the explosive hitherto used in the Huntly mines.
